Today, we are glad to announce the release of three great artists who have joined our ongoing project with the very special collaboration work.
ILPO VÄISÄNEN & DIRK DRESSELHAUS
feat. ULRICH KRIEGER
“BRAINWAVE MUSIC NO. III“
This is one of those releases that takes a very long time to cook. The initial recording of Brainwave Music was done by Ilpo and Dirk in 2021, and the first time we briefly talked about the possibility of releasing it was the Summer of 2022. Then, in 2024, Ulrich came up with the idea to add his bass clarinet to one of the recordings, which added another layer of depth to the music. And finally, in 2025, we’ve finally managed to release with the quality this work deserved.
The concept of 𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐖𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐂 was based on an interactive system including brainwave interfaces that allowed the two performers to process the sounds of several semi-modular synthesizers via CV with their brain activities.
Brainwave Music No. III was initially recorded live on October 30th 2021 as part of 10 Brain Wave – sound installation – performances by die ANGEL (Ilpo Väisänen, Dirk Dresselhaus) in the Life on a Leaf house, Turku, Finland.
Double bass clarinet overdubs by Ulrich Krieger were recorded on August 6th 2024, at his home studio, Hubbard Road, Acton, California, USA.
Mixed by Dirk Dresselhaus in September 2024 at ZONE, Berlin.
Mastered by C-drik.
Design by Zavoloka.
Artworks, cover concept and production by Dmytro Fedorenko.
The album is available in the following formats:
